Project Overview

We were asked to provide specialist internal cleaning services across multiple recycling centres throughout Shropshire and the Midlands, where maintaining high levels of cleanliness is essential for safety, presentation, and regulatory compliance. Over time, dust, cobwebs, debris and general build-up accumulate on walls, ceilings and structural surfaces due to the nature of waste-handling operations.

To support each facility in keeping standards consistently high, we carry out an annual programme of deep internal cleaning across several sites. These cleans are carefully scheduled over weekends when the centres are closed or operating at reduced capacity to ensure zero disruption to essential public services. This ongoing partnership helps each site stay inspection-ready year-round while creating a cleaner, safer environment for their staff.

Our Scope of Works

Our annual cleaning programme covers all internal areas of the recycling centres, including:

• Full pressure washing of internal walls, ceilings, columns and structural steelwork
• MEWP access cleaning to reach high-level surfaces safely and effectively
• Removal of extensive cobwebs, dust and debris build-up
• Emptying and clearing external guttering systems
• Cleaning hard-to-reach areas around machinery, bays and overhead fixtures
• Working in partnership with site managers to prioritise operational areas
• Maintaining standards required to pass site audits and inspections

Methods & Approach

To minimise operational impact, all cleaning is scheduled over weekends or during agreed downtime. Our approach includes:

• Deploying trained operatives experienced in industrial and high-level cleaning
• Using MEWPs to ensure safe, controlled access to ceilings and high framework
• Applying specialist pressure washing techniques suitable for internal environments
• Working closely with site teams to adapt the sequence of works as required
• Maintaining strict safety controls throughout, including PPE, exclusion zones and traffic management
