School Clean, Shrewsbury

Project Details

Client: Severndale Academy

Service Provided: Contract Cleaning

Completion Date: April 2024

Project Overview

We were approached by a local school to provide additional cleaning capacity after their in-house team began struggling to keep up with the day-to-day workload. With high footfall, specialist rooms and a wide range of facilities to maintain, the school required reliable, professional support to ensure standards of hygiene and presentation were consistently met.

Our involvement extended over a number of years, providing ongoing assistance during busy periods until the school was able to rebuild and stabilise its in-house cleaning team.

Our Scope of Works

Cleaning responsibilities were carried out on a room-by-room basis as requested, including:

  • Deep cleaning of classrooms and teaching spaces
  • Cleaning around the swimming pool area
  • Full cleaning of wet rooms and shower rooms
  • Carpet cleaning throughout various areas
  • Targeted deep cleans of problem spaces during peak demand

Methods & Approach

All works were carried out strictly out of hours, scheduled during school holiday closures to ensure complete safety and zero disruption to pupils and staff. Our team worked through the building on a room-by-room basis, delivering a full deep clean while adhering to strict chemical-use controls in all areas accessible to children. This included detailed cleaning around the swimming pool, classrooms, wet rooms, shower facilities and carpets. By operating exclusively when the school was closed, we were able to complete a thorough and efficient clean without impacting any school activities.

Project Outcome

By completing the work during half-term and holiday closures, we ensured the school returned each term to a fresh, hygienic and fully restored environment. Our out-of-hours approach meant the school experienced no disruption, while still receiving a deep, high-standard clean that their in-house team struggled to maintain. Over several years, our support helped them keep on top of cleaning demands until they were able to recruit and stabilise their own cleaning team, at which point they confidently transitioned the work back in-house.
