Project Overview

Shrewsbury High Street had begun to experience a noticeable rise in graffiti, stickers, and general grime, issues that can quickly make busy town-centre areas look untidy and poorly maintained. To help restore the appearance of this historic shopping area, we were tasked with carrying out a comprehensive clean-up programme.

Our work focused on improving the visual appeal of the high street and surrounding alleys through graffiti removal, sticker removal, pressure washing, and minor restorative work.

Our Scope of Works

We delivered a wide range of external cleaning and tidying tasks throughout the high street, including:

  • Removal a build up of stickers from lamp posts, walls, bus stops, street furniture, and shopfront areas
  • Graffiti removal across multiple locations
  • General cleaning to refresh the pavements and improve overall appearance
  • Repainting walls where damage or staining couldn’t be fully restored
  • Clearing rubbish and debris from alleyways and hidden areas

Methods & Approach

Our work was planned to ensure safety and accessibility throughout the project. This included:

  • Carefully removing stickers and adhesives using approved, surface-safe methods
  • Applying appropriate cleaning solutions for graffiti removal without damaging substrates
  • Working in small, controlled sections to avoid blocking footpaths
  • Tidying alleyways and back areas that often accumulate rubbish but make a big visual difference when cleaned

By combining cosmetic improvements with practical cleaning tasks, we delivered a balanced and effective approach to refreshing the town centre.

Project Outcome

The high street saw a marked improvement in overall appearance following the works. With graffiti and thousands of stickers removed, walls repainted, and pavement furniture cleaned, the area now looks significantly cleaner and more inviting.

This project highlights how focused, targeted cleaning can positively transform a town centre, improving public perception and supporting a more pleasant environment for shoppers, businesses, and visitors alike.
