Project Overview
Southwater One is one of Telford’s flagship civic and community buildings, which was part of a larger, £250 million development that reshaped Telford Town Centre’s leisure, cultural and civic heart.
Inside Southwater One you’ll find a modern public library, the local council’s “First Point” advice and civic-services centre, and other public amenities.
Given the volume of footfall, public access, and range of uses (from community services to leisure and public events), ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and presentation is vital for comfort, safety, and ongoing use by residents and visitors.
In this context, our team was appointed to perform a full internal and external deep clean of Southwater One, bringing all areas back to their best following long use and general wear.
Our Scope of Works
For this contract we delivered a wide-ranging deep-clean across both interior and exterior areas. The tasks included:
- High-level external cleaning via MEWP
- Internal and external window cleaning throughout the building
- Carpet cleaning across public areas and offices
- Hard floor cleaning in corridors, entrance zones and other heavy-traffic areas
- Upholstery/chair cleaning and general deep-clean throughout internal communal spaces
- Pressure washing of external surfaces and paved areas
- Re-sanding of block paving where applicable after pressure washing
In short: a full “refresh” of the building inside and out targeting every surface that sees heavy use or is visible to the public.
Project Outcome
By the end of the programme, Southwater One had been thoroughly refreshed: windows were spotless, floors and carpets restored, external areas and paving cleaned and re-sanded, and the building as a whole returned to a presentable, welcoming condition.
Given Southwater One’s role as a civic hub, housing the public library, council services, and hosting regular visitors, the deep clean significantly improved hygiene, appearance, and overall user experience. The refreshed finishes and cleanliness support the building’s identity as a flagship community facility and help maintain its status as a key asset in Telford’s town centre.
This project underlines our ability to carry out large-scale, detailed cleans in high-footfall public spaces, combining technical cleaning proficiency with careful planning to preserve access and minimise disruption.
