Project Overview
Between November and January 2025, we were appointed by McPhillips to carry out extensive external cleaning works along Brierley Hill High Street.
As a busy commercial area with constant pedestrian movement and active businesses, maintaining cleanliness while ensuring public safety required detailed planning and a flexible approach. The objective was to restore the appearance of the high street through comprehensive pressure washing and full chewing gum removal.
Our Scope of Works
The programme of works included:
- Pressure washing of footpaths and paved areas
- Steam-based gum removal using a low-flow, high-temperature mobile unit
- Implementation of footpath closures with coned-off working zones
- Installation of clearly signed and arrowed pedestrian diversion routes
- Safe vehicle positioning within lined bays where possible, with additional coning where required
This ensured a thorough clean while maintaining safe public access throughout the project.
Project Outcome
The completion of the works significantly improved the overall appearance of Brierley Hill High Street. Chewing gum deposits were removed in full, paving was refreshed, and the environment was left cleaner and more presentable for businesses, residents and visitors.
Through careful planning, traffic management and flexible scheduling, the project was delivered safely and efficiently, supporting the ongoing upkeep of this busy town centre location.
